How to Use the E-Book Program at Penn State World Campus

e-book

There’s an opportunity for you to save money on books and selected readings for your courses this semester.

Our e-book program is offered as a partnership between the Penn State University Libraries and Penn State World Campus, providing you with free electronic books for selected courses. The goal of the e-book program is to offer you increased library services and introduce a cost affordability initiative. The Penn State University Libraries has licensed e-books that are already required texts in many of your Penn State World Campus courses.

To find out if you have a course that has a free e-book, you can:

  • Check the Penn State World Campus Course Catalog. If you have a course that has an e-book, it will show up with an asterisk next to it.
  • Visit our e-book program web page and search for any of the current courses you are taking this semester. If the courses have an e-book associated with the program, they will show up in the list.
  • Contact your academic adviser to inquire about e-books in your courses.

You can access these selected e-books directly in your Canvas module. To do this, go to your course in Canvas and select Library Resources. Then select E-Reserves. You should see two tabs: E-Reserves and
E-Books. Select the E-Books tab and a link to your e-book should appear.

You should have access to your materials on the first day of classes.
