Student Managed Fund
Through the Intrieri Family Student Managed Fund (IFSMF), our students are investing real money in the real markets. The fund currently manages roughly $1,000,000, and students make all of the fund’s investment decisions. Fund analysts broadcast their weekly investment strategy meetings every Friday from 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. (ET) via Adobe Connect.
Within the IFSMF, students conduct valuations of stocks that the fund currently owns and stocks that are being considered for ownership. Student recommendations are then presented to all students in the fund for a vote. It is recommended that students take both FIN 420 and FIN 461 to better understand the goings-on in the IFSMF. We also offer FIN 362, which is an associate analyst program available to all students with no prerequisites, and FIN 462, which is the lead analyst program for students that have successfully completed FIN 461.

Investment Research Challenge Team
Each year, five students are selected to participate in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. World Campus students interested in being considered should contact Dr. Filbeck ([email protected]) and should have at least a full year of study remaining.
Finance Speaker Series
Penn State Behrend periodically hosts industry experts in their Finance Speaker Series. World Campus students can participate in these discussions through their YouTube channel.
