Edward W. Keller served the University as vice president for public affairs and, prior to that, as director of general extension. An advocate for continuing education at the national level, Dr. Keller established the scholarship to honor his father and mother, Dr. Edward L. and Dessa B. Keller, in the hopes of offering financial assistance to employees of Outreach and Online Education. Dr. Keller believed that "just about everybody is a candidate for adult education of some kind," a philosophy he incorporated into his work at Penn State.

The Edward L. and Dessa B. Keller Memorial Scholarship is available to students who are currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Penn State World Campus or University Park. Successful applicants will have achieved superior academic records or show promise of outstanding academic success.

Edward L. and Dessa B. Keller Memorial Scholarship applicants must submit an application form and provide contact information for a professional reference who can submit a letter of recommendation.

Please prepare your professional reference information in advance so that you will be ready to enter it in the application form. When you submit your application, your professional reference will receive a request to visit a link and upload the recommendation letter as a .pdf, .doc, or .docx file. We recommend that students let their references know they will receive this request via email.

You will not have access to see the file that your reference uploads, but you will receive an email confirming that your reference has uploaded the letter. Your application will not be considered complete until this letter has been uploaded.
