Mental Health Awareness Month: Resources for Students
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we want to take this opportunity to remind Penn State World Campus students of the mental health support resources available to them.
About Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health America founded Mental Health Awareness Month in 1949 and has led the effort every May to promote mental wellness nationwide. This year’s theme — More Good Days, Together — prompts us to think about what a “good” day looks like, both for ourselves and for our communities. We can then use that insight as a starting point to help us connect people to the right support at the right time, and guide our efforts involving advocacy, education, and community engagement to make more good days possible for all.
Mental Health Resources for Students
World Campus students have access to a variety of mental health services and resources, including:
- free access to Headspace Care, an app and online platform with on-demand mental health coaching, tools to help with meditation and better sleep, and virtual clinical support services, if recommended by Headspace Care clinicians
- Let’s Talk, a non-emergency drop-in service offering students confidential and informal same-day consultations with a licensed mental health professional
- Exploring Dimensions of Wellness, a self-paced noncredit course that provides practical tools to help you incorporate wellness into your daily life
- support from a World Campus mental health case manager, who can help connect you with resources online or in your community — schedule a meeting with a case manager online via the World Campus Mental Health and Well-Being Case Management Scheduling Form (use the password: WCCMforms)

Join a Virtual Wellness Event
The organization is also hosting a virtual wellness experience on Wednesday, May 20. This event is designed to help participants explore simple, practical ways to support wellness and build healthy habits that last. Activities will include guided chair yoga, reflective journaling, and calming breathwork routines that support both mind and body.
Review the agenda and register for the virtual wellness event.
