Finding Summer Motivation and Celebrating Success

As we wrapped up the summer semester, we asked our Penn State World Campus‬ community two important questions to reflect on:‬

  • ‭ What is your advice for staying motivated?‬
  • What has been your biggest success this semester?‬

‭To stay motivated, our community shared:‬

“Choose classes that interest you! Talk to friends or family about course work. Write papers‬ tailored to your interests and not just the usual topics. Make games out of note cards for‭ memorization. The most motivating thing for me is keeping my eye on the prize (my future‬ degree).” —Dawn‬

“Engage with your fellow classmates. WC does not have to be limited to working alone! One of‬ the best experiences during my studies was making connections with classmates, which still‬ stand a year after graduating, and together working on assignments. It definitely removed the‬ stigma from 'online' learning.” —Jakeline S.‬

Successes for our community included:‬

“Reaching the last course in MHRER program! 👏” —Madelyn‬

“I just completed my 1st class. Now I’m in my 2nd. I look forward to feeling that sense of‬ completion after my last class.” —Khadeshia‬

Reminding yourself of what is important to you as a Penn State World Campus student can give‬ you the extra motivational push to finish out the semester strong! Reflecting on your biggest successes can allow you to take note of what goals you have accomplished and how you can take‬ on new challenges.‬
