If You Live Near Penn State's University Park Campus

You have the option of scheduling exams through our office. Exams are offered at the Outreach Testing Center, located in the Outreach Building in Innovation Park. Please contact us at least 2 weeks in advance to make an appointment. While we can't guarantee proctor availability, we will always provide alternate proctoring options. Occasionally, due to circumstances beyond our control, exams may be canceled with no prior notice.

If You Live Near Another Penn State Campus

Contact us for information about campus proctors. Your next step is to contact the proctor for exam times and locations. You also have the option of asking any Penn State faculty member or approved adjunct faculty member to proctor for you. If a Penn State faculty member or educational administrator designates another person in education as your proctor, the Penn State representative must submit the designation to us in writing.

If You Don’t Live in Pennsylvania or Near a Penn State Campus

• You will need to arrange to have your exam(s) supervised by a qualified and approved proctor. Certain people, such as family members or relatives, cannot proctor exams, but there are many people who can.
• You must submit a completed Proctor Information Form.
• Be sure to include verification of your proctor’s position along with the form.
• Concurrently, you must submit a Request for Examination Form. (You can find this form in your course on ANGEL.)
• Once we receive all of your documentation and approval information, you will receive an e-mail from records@outreach.psu.edu to your Penn State email account, notifying you that your proctor has been approved. If you do not receive notification in 3 to 5 business days, please contact us.
• Proctor approval is valid for 2 years. If the position, name, or location of your proctor changes within this time, you’ll need to notify us to ensure this person can continue proctoring for you.
• If your proctor does not meet the required specifications, the World Campus will email you in 3 to 5 business days.
