Some Penn State World Campus English, mathematics, and chemistry courses have prerequisites. If you have not completed the prerequisite course at Penn State (or an equivalent course through another school), you will be required to take the appropriate online placement test.There is no cost associated with the exams, and you are not required to study for them.

The exams will test your current ability and help you and your adviser determine the appropriate level of English, math, and chemistry to take. By working with your academic adviser, you can be sure to take the proper placement tests.

Tip: If you’re not satisfied with the results of your math placement exam, you can retake that exam as many times as you’d like. Talk to your adviser for more information.
