Academic Advising

Undergraduate Students: You have been assigned an academic adviser, who will offer you advice about your academic program and provide needed moral support — from your acceptance through graduation. Your adviser will first contact you via email, typically within 2 weeks of your acceptance.

Get Your Course Materials Before Your Courses Begin

Eight weeks prior to the start of your course, you can find out what materials your course will require in the course catalog. Three weeks before your course starts, you’ll be able to buy the necessary materials from MBS Direct, the official provider of textbooks for World Campus courses.

Helpful Services and Sites at Penn State

  • ANGEL — Penn State’s course management system, where you will log into courses. To become acclimated to ANGEL before your course begins, you can watch our ANGEL Tutorials.
  • eLion — a service that gives you access to information about your tuition payment, student record, online course registration, and financial aid awards. You can also request printed semester grade reports and enrollment verification and pay your bill here.
  • Penn State e-mail account — the only account used for communicating official University business. Check it regularly, or autoforward your mail to your preferred email account, to be notified of important messages that could affect you.
  • Information Technology Services — provides information about online safety practices and policies.
  • Penn State University Libraries — gives you access to more than 100,000 e-books, e-journals, and other online content, as well as more than 5 million books, journals, and printed materials.
