Associate in Science Degree in Turfgrass Science And Management

Step 1.
Go to elion at elion.psu.edu and click on "Students."
Step 2.
Enter your Penn State “User ID” and “User Password” and click on "OK."
Step 3.
From the menu on the left side of your screen, click on “Advising” and then click on “Degree Audit.”
Step 4.
If you were accepted directly into a Penn State degree, we refer to this as degree status; click on "Current" under Majors. If you are a nondegree student at Penn State or if you were accepted into provisional status then you will click "Alternative" under Majors.
Step 5.
On this page you will see four drop down menus. Under “Select a College,” drop down to “Agricultural Science.” Under “Select a Major,” drop down to “Turfgrass Science Management (AS).” Under “Option” you will notice that there is no option for this major. Beside the program year make sure the default is the year you entered your degree program. Then click on “Submit degree audit request”
Step 6.
At the top of the screen you will receive a Confirmation Message that states your audit has been requested. Go back to the bottom of the screen and click on "View audit request status."
Step 7.
You may notice that the column on the far right may read that the status is "Not ready"; if this is the case, click on the “Recheck status” button. It may take several minutes before the status of your audit is "Ready." Once the audit is "Ready," click the button beside the degree, then click "View audit." You are now ready to read your degree audit.

Students who have a valid (and verifiable) state pesticide license can request to be automatically exempted from taking TURF 230. If you don’t already have a pesticide license and are planning on getting one, you may not want to schedule this course.

In order to be exempted from this course, you would need to send your academic adviser a copy of your state pesticide license. You may scan and email or fax this to your adviser's attention at 814-865-3290.

Take ENGL 015.

Take PHIL 103W instead of PHIL 103 in order to fulfill your “W” requirement.

However, if you have previously completed another “W” or “Y” course, please check with your adviser.

If you have not completed the prerequisite course at Penn State or an equivalent course through another school, you are required to take an Online Placement Test for chemistry.

If you have not completed the prerequisite course at Penn State or an equivalent course through another school, you are required to take an Online Placement Test for mathematics. This course will prepare you for Chemistry and will open options for you in terms of future degrees at Penn State World Campus.

The prerequisite to this course is two entrance units in mathematics, which may be two units of high school algebra. Despite the course being listed as an introductory-level course, it’s considered very challenging by many students. If you are unsure if you satisfy the prerequisites to schedule this course, contact your academic adviser.

Choose one 3 credit course that fulfills the US or one 3-credit course that fulfills the IL or International Cultures requirements. These courses may also double count for General Education requirements. You can find a list of US or IL courses on the Undergraduate Bulletin.

You must fulfill all of the requirements above to complete this degree. Students with transfer credits may graduate with more than the 61-credit minimum.

If you are transferring in more credits than you need to fulfill electives, then this number will be inaccurate for you. Work with your World Campus Adviser to determine the number of credits remaining to fulfill this degree.
