Together, we'll make a difference in the life of a child!
Join Penn State World Campus as we raise funds for THON, the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, and is organized by Penn State students on all campuses.
Fundraising for THON occurs throughout the year and culminates in a 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleep dance marathon at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. All proceeds are donated to The Four Diamonds Fund at The Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The mission of The Four Diamonds Fund is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.
Last year more than nine million dollars was raised to benefit The Four Diamonds Fund. This collective effort, involving more than 15,000 students, has become one of our great and most unifying traditions at Penn State.
THON 2012: "Brighten Every Future"
This year THON will be held from February 17 to 19, and will be streaming live all weekend so students from anywhere can join!
World Campus THON Fundraising Goal for 2012
Our goal is to get the word out, and raise $2,600. If we raise $2,600 by January 30, 2012, World Campus will be entered in a lottery for a chance to have two students dance at the 2013 Dance Marathon. For every additional $500 we raise, we earn another lottery slot.

History of THON
In 1973, a small group of dedicated Penn State students held their first dance marathon. That year, 39 dancer couples participated and raised $2,000. Since then, THON’s presence in the Penn State community has grown exponentially. THON now has over 15,000 student volunteers, 700 dancers, and has raised more than $78 million, benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
THON is now a year-long effort that raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. With the support of students from all across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and THON Alumni all around the world, we continue to make great strides towards finding a cure for all childhood cancers!
