Pi Delta Chi is Penn State’s University Park chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL), America's only chapter-based honor society celebrating the scholarship and leadership of full- and part-time undergraduate adult learners.
Our Members
Our University Park chapter is composed of World Campus students, University Park resident instruction students, and Continuing Education students at University Park, including those taking courses through our Lewistown (Pennsylvania) and Williamsport (Pennsylvania) centers.

Eligibility Requirements
World Campus, Continuing Education at University Park students, and resident instruction students from the University Park campus who meet the following eligibility criteria will be contacted directly by the Pi Delta Chi selection committee in spring semester regarding membership.
- you must have completed 24 credits in an undergraduate degree program from World Campus, Continuing Education at University Park, or through resident instruction at the University Park campus
- at least 12 of your total credits should be earned in courses from the College of the Liberal Arts or deemed by the University as liberal arts courses via the transfer process
- you must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5
- you must be in the highest 20 percent of students who meet the above criteria

Induction Ceremony
We proudly host an annual induction ceremony and celebratory reception at the end of the spring semester for our new members, their family, and friends. Students who are unable to travel to the University Park campus for the ceremony are inducted at a distance.

Alpha Sigma Lambda offers scholarships at the national level. Find out more about scholarship eligibility and how to apply.
ASL Gifts and Supplies
You can choose from an assortment of gifts and supplies available through the Alpha Sigma Lambda store, including academic regalia, jewelry items (ASL pins, charms, and more), and clothing (ASL polos and sweatshirts). Money earned from the sale of ASL products is used to help fund scholarships.
